The University of Central Florida is pleased to work with HCA Florida Healthcare and the Orlando VA Medical Center to sponsor residency and fellowship programs accredited by the ACGME. There are now 40 residency and fellowship programs approved by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) in the UCF/HCA Florida Healthcare GME consortium with approximately 650 residents and fellows in the following locations: Gainesville (HCA Florida North Florida Hospital), Greater Orlando (HCA Florida Osceola Hospital and the Orlando VAMC), Ocala (HCA Florida Ocala Hospital), Tallahassee (HCA Florida Capital Hospital), Pensacola (HCA Florida West Hospital), Ft. Walton (HCA Florida Ft. Walton-Destin Hospital), and Sanford (HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital. Additional programs are planned in Pensacola, Tallahassee and other locations. The new training programs help address ongoing doctor shortages and the demand for high quality training programs.
