Nearly 11,500 multidisciplinary assessments are performed annually through our Psychiatric Emergency Services, with more than 4,700 inpatient admissions. As the top recipient of National Institutes of Health mental health grants nationally, UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital is a leader in the field of behavioral health. UPMC Western Behavioral Health offers crisis services for Allegheny, Beaver, Erie, and Blair counties, with more than 177,000 calls, 16,000 walk-ins, and 19,000 dispatched mobile units to assist with crisis management. Residential facilities serve individuals of all ages with mental health challenges, intellectual disabilities, and substance use disorder. Outpatient locations offer convenient access to services, and UPMC Western Wellness offers short-term therapy located in pediatric and adult primary care, specialty practices, and in a dedicated stand-alone facility.
