Hospital quality
Established in 1952, Rowan Branch is part of the non-profit corporation, Children’s Hospital Branches, Inc. We are a diverse group of hard-working and fun-loving women striving to serve the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland and we are dedicated to raising funds to help support the lifesaving work done at the Hospital. The Hospital has a policy of "no child will be turned away regardless of their ability to pay". This promise comes at a high financial cost and the budget can only stretch so far even with the generous support of the Benioff family. There are many departments with programs and lifesaving equipment needs that cannot be met out of the Hospital funds and this is where the fundraising efforts of Rowan Branch and the other branches of Children's Hospital Branches, Inc. are able to help. Rowan Branch prides itself on being one of the single largest Branch contributors, raising over $200,000 a year for urgently needed projects including; an on-site MRI machine, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit equipment, Operating Room equipment, Emergency Department Heliport, and a Cystic Fibrosis Center. Rowan Branch is comprised of approximately 45 members who reside primarily in the Alamo and Danville areas of Contra Costa County (but we welcome members who are hospital supporters from all over Contra Costa and Alameda Counties). We raise funds by organizing events such as the annual Gala des Enfants and the Spring Shopping Spree. In addition to raising these much-needed funds for the hospital, we form lasting relationships within our group and throughout the community.
