We were the first Level 1 Trauma Center certified in Missouri and Illinois, and we currently treat more than 2,200 major trauma cases each year, the most of any trauma center in the area. The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. We are home to a renowned organ transplant program offering kidney, liver, pancreas and bone marrow transplants, as well as comprehensive cardiology program and blood and bone marrow transplant center. Saint Louis University Hospital is also the founder of the MidAmerica Stroke Network, a regional program that provides stroke care education to promote quality stroke care throughout the Midwest.
