Over three thousand students walk through the gates each morning to begin another day of learning at St. Ann’s College for Women, Hyderabad. Established in 1983 by the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Anne, the college was founded with a clear purpose: to advance women’s education and empower young women to lead meaningful and impactful lives. From its humble beginnings with just two academic programmes, two classrooms, and 106 students, the college has grown into a premier institution offering forty-five undergraduate and postgraduate programmes to over 3,570 students, supported by excellent infrastructure and a vibrant academic ecosystem. The institution embraces a judicious blend of tradition and modernity, with a steadfast commitment to empowering girl students through academic excellence, skill enhancement, and value enrichment. Committed to quality assurance and continuous improvement, the college has undergone assessment and accreditation in 2006, 2013, 2018, and 2024, consistently earning an ‘A’ Grade. It was recognised twice as a College with Potential for Excellence in 2010 and 2014, and was granted Autonomous Status in 2015. The college also serves as a Paramarsh Mentee Institution, mentoring other colleges in their accreditation journey. As part of its innovation and quality initiatives, the college established the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) in 2019.
